Bookdrops

The outside bookdrop is located on the east side of the library off of Emery Street. There is a bookdrop at the Circulation Desk inside the library. Returning items to the indoor drop reduces damage.

Donations

The Longmont Library welcomes library donations. We accept hardback books and paperbacks, but we do not accept textbooks older than 5 years. We also take magazines and Readers Digest condensed books, but these are placed on the free tables and do not go into the collection. Library staff who select books for the collection sort through donated items and select items that they feel are best suited for our library’s collection according to the collection development policy and guidelines. Any items that are not selected to go into the collection will be given to the book sale.

The Library welcomes your monetary gifts and memorial donations.  Please contact the administration office at 303-651-8795 for more information.

Library Board

The purpose of the Library Board is to provide guidance to the City Council in directing the activities and goals of Library operations. You can view the last 6 months of Agendas, and Minutes of the Library Board online. For older items you can visit our online database of public records.

Lost and Found Items

The Longmont Library has a lost and found located at the Circulation Desk. If we can identify the owner of the item (wallet, keys, etc.) we will call the patron and hold the item at the circulation desk. Unidentified items are kept for 30 days and then donated to local shelters.

Parking

There is 2 hour surface and street parking on the east, west and north sides of the library.

Volunteers

Volunteer at the library! Just fill out an application and bring it to the Information Desk on the first floor of the library. We will do our best to find an appropriate place for your skills.
