Longmont Municipal Probation Department

The primary function of the Longmont Municipal Probation Department is to reduce recidivism and criminal behavior. To accomplish this, Probation Officers often find they must strike a difficult balance between punishment and rehabilitation. For the safety of the community, Probation Officers must ensure probationers comply with the terms and conditions of their sentences. At the same time, Probation Officers extend themselves to provide probationers with the services and resources they need to become functioning members of our community. As a service arm to the Longmont Municipal Judge, the Probation Department provides pre-sentence investigations, supervision and monitoring of probationers, assessment and referral to local and state resources and restitution investigation for victims. The Probation Department is a division under the Longmont Municipal Court, Presiding Judge Diana VanDeHey, in and for the City of Longmont.
