Learn Today, Change Your World Tomorrow
Saturday, March 17
8:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
(registration begins at 8 a.m.)
Radisson Conference Center
1850 Industrial Circle, Longmont
Schedule of Events
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. that day, so come early, enjoy some breakfast, and explore the Education Expo that will be set up through lunch time. The Expo will feature informational booths highlighting the many different educational organizations, groups and resources that already exist in our community to offer quality, lifelong educational opportunities for all. Learn about a new resource you can access and/or ways you can contribute your time and talents toward an existing educational effort.
The day will start off with keynote speaker Glen Hiemstra, internationally respected futurist, author and founder of futurist.com, who will discuss future trends in the world today and how they relate to a community value of lifelong learning. Participants will then attend break-out sessions and learn from local and regional experts about promising practices in the areas of:
Early care and education
Kindergarten - Grade 12
Higher Education/Career Training
Adult Retraining/Continuous Education/Re-inventing Retirement
When these break-out sessions conclude, we will enjoy lunch and more opportunities to explore education resources that are displayed at the Expo.
In the early afternoon, we will gather as a large group to learn more about each of these areas, to identify common themes that can strengthen the entire community’s capacity to address key educational challenges, and to begin mobilizing as a community to make Longmont a community where all children and adults have a chance to succeed in school and in life.
