Self Service in the Computer Labs
Beginning January 4, 2010 we implemented computer software to streamline reservations for computers and to handle printing in the labs. We've prepared handouts to guide you through the process:
Configuration of the Computer Labs
The library has three distinct areas with computers for public use. Each area
has a different focus, audience and resources. Review the Internet
and Computer Use Policy (Adobe
.pdf file, 86kb) for guidelines on using all computers in the library.
This
lab is primarily for patrons who are age 18 or older . Patrons
under age 18 may be in the lab only when accompanied by a parent or guardian
and may not access the computers in this area. The
purpose of computers throughout the library is primarily for information and
research. Internet filtering software is used is this area. It is contrary
to library rules to access materials that are obscene, pornographic, or otherwise
sexually explicit. Web-based email, chat rooms and games are
permitted. Word-processing on IBM-compatible computers is available. View details

The Longmont Public Library Children's and Teen Services (CATS) Computer Lab
provides filtered access through Websense to the Internet, a wide variety
of software, including word processing software (Microsoft Word), Publisher,
Power Point, and CD-ROM software for all ages. The CATS Lab is divided into two sections, one for teens ages 14-17 and another for younger users under age 14. View details on policies and
