Light A Candle, Library Information
AN OPPORTUNITY FOR
Light A Candle is an annual holiday tradition at the Library, celebrating 27 years this season. Sponsored by the Friends of the Longmont Library as a fund-raising event to enhance the library’s collection, it provides an opportunity for residents and library users to participate in supporting their community library.
This year, Light A Candle starts December 1st and runs through December 14th. During the event, selected books, DVDs and compact discs will be displayed in the Library. These items are available for you to purchase as a donation to the Library collection. A bookplate is placed in each book or item to identify the donor. In addition, for each item donated, a candle ornament bearing the donor’s name will be hung on the Light A Candle Tree which stands in the Library lobby during the holiday season.
Through your community support and generosity, the Library is able to further expand its collection. Donations to the Library collection benefit everyone, from the very young to our respected seniors. All contributions are tax deductible, and prices on the items vary significantly in order to allow everyone to participate. Light A Candle is a wonderfully simple way to give something to the community. Become a part of the tradition. Stop by and donate a book.
