AMP'D: Powering Longmont 1912-2012, November 17, 2012-February 17, 2013

Electricity – essential but mysterious, it is all around us yet almost invisible. In celebration of the centennial of Longmont Power & Communications (LPC), Longmont’s own electric utility, we present a hands-on exhibit uncovering the real story of electricity. Visitors will crank up muscle-powered generators, see electricity in action, experiment with magnets, try on the protective clothing worn by LPC employees, and balance electric “loads” on a giant scale.

Exhibit admission: $5 adults, $3 students/seniors (62+), children 5 and under admitted free.
