Day of the Dead

December 3, 2011 to January 22, 2012

Love it or hate it, graffiti never fails to catch the eye. Graffiti artists in recent years have turned their attention from walls and underpasses to more traditional gallery and museum formats. This exhibition features prominent Los Angeles graffiti artists such as REVOK, PUSH, SABER, RETNA and CRAOLA. Additional work by Colorado graffiti artists including GAMMA, JOLT, OUIJA, HOMES, DREAD, JHER, BEAST, and EMIT appears inside and even dripping down the outside of the Longmont Museum.

Surprises

When we say graffiti, you may think this.

But there’s more to it. This work was also created by a “writer,” as many graffiti artists prefer to be called.

Some writers have broken the 2-D barrier to create works like these.

Exhibit admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors (55+)
Free days: December 10 and January 14
