How to Recycle Your Holiday Stuff
There are three locations in Longmont where you can take your old holiday lights through Monday, January 10, to be recycled: Longmont Recycling Center at 140 Martin Street, Longmont Service Center at 1100 South Sherman Street, and the Longmont Public Works Facility at 375 Airport Road. Please bundle or tie the strands and place them in the designated bins located outside these facilities. Bins at all locations are available 24 hours a day.
Trees: Although the special collection sites are for a limited time, residents can take their trees to the city recycling center any time of year. The tree limb diversion portion of the city recycling center is open to accept trees six days a week Monday thru Wednesday 8 am to 4:45 pm and Thursday thru Saturday 8 am to 5:45 pm.
Wrapping Paper: The recycling center can accept wrapping paper in the chip/paperboard container until the end of January. Just look for the sign that will direct you to this particular container. The recycling drop off is open seven days a week. For more information call 303-651-8416 or visit www.ci.longmont.co.us/solidwaste.
