Ralph Price Fishing Permits To Go On Sale
Annual fishing permits for Ralph Price Reservoir will go on sale on Friday, April 1, 2011, at 8:00 a.m. The cost is $20 for Longmont and Lyons water utility customers and $30 for non-water utility customers. Anglers will be required to present their 2011-12 state fishing license at the time of purchase and there is a maximum purchase of four permits per person, per day. Sale locations are: City Clerk’s Office, 350 Kimbark St. (cash or check); Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave. (cash, check or credit card); and Lyons Town Hall, 432 5th Ave., Lyons (cash or check). Pharmaceutical Drop-off Day
The City of Longmont and Longmont United Hospital are offering a free Pharmaceutical Drop-Off Day on April 30, 2011 from 8 am to 2 pm in the Longmont United Hospital main lobby, 1950 Mountain View Avenue. Don’t flush old or unused medication down the sink or toilet. All types of medications (pills, liquids, patches, inhalers, etc.) will be accepted for proper disposal by the DEA. Please bring medication in the original containers. This one day event is free. Pharmaceuticals only; no needles, thermometers, medical equipment, personal care products or household hazardous wastes will be accepted.

Park Restrooms Still Closed for Winter
Restrooms in City parks are still closed for the winter season. Even though this winter has been mild, Colorado weather can change overnight bringing freezing temperatures. The park restrooms are not heated, and pipes can freeze if the restrooms are open during a cold snap. The projected opening date for all park restrooms is April 15. Kids Fishing Program Full
Children age 15 and younger are invited to the Chick Clark Kids Fishing Program Spring Kickoff on Saturday, March 26, at Izaak Walton Park, 18 South Sunset Street. All 250 slots for the education program and free rods and reels have been filled, but there still will be free fishing for children and free hot dogs and drinks for everyone from 10 am to 1 pm. The event begins at 8 am. Parking is limited, so car pooling is encouraged. For more information call 303-651-8446.

Stop-n-Drop Next Saturday
Public Works Solid Waste Operations will host a Large Item Stop-N-Drop from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, March 26, at the Public Works Maintenance Facility, 375 Airport Road. Customers can bring large and bulky household items for disposal, and city employees will unload your items for you. You also must bring a current City of Longmont utility bill as the program is available at no additional cost only to Longmont refuse collection customers.
