Celebrate Arbor Day/Earth Day on Saturday
On Saturday, April 16th (rain date is April 23rd) at Thompson Park, 4th & Bross from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. come join this combined celebration to enjoy and learn more about both. There will also be the tree and rose bushes for sale, environmental education, an "Edible Forest" lunch, live music, hugh earth balloon, community drum circle, urban wood waste utilization, chainsaw artist, balloons, games and prizes! Backyard Compost Bin Sale to be Held on Sunday
The Boulder County Resource Conservation Division is hosting its annual spring backyard compost bin sale this Sunday at 9 a.m. SoilSaver bins will be available for $50 each including tax. Only checks and cash will be accepted. Bins will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. No early sales.

City Council and Frederick Town Board to Meet
On Tuesday, April 19, the Longmont City Council will hold a joint meeting with the Frederick Town Board beginning at 7 pm in rooms A and B of the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue. Following the signing of an intergovernmental agreement between the two cities, topics to be discussed are transportation planning, the Denver Regional Council of Governments, regionalized SWAT, and trails. This meeting will take the place of the regularly scheduled city council meeting. The public is invited to attend.

Free Sprinkler Inspections
Free sprinkler inspections are being offered by the City of Longmont and The Center for ReSource Conservation. The inspection includes a recommended watering schedule, visual inspection, soil sampling, precipitation rate, and recommended improvements. There are a limited number of inspections available, so reserve yours now. Visit www.ConservationCenter.org, or call 303-999-3820, ext. 217.
