The Longmont Fire Muster returns on Saturday, August 13. The muster begins at 10 am with a parade on Main Street from 3rd Avenue north to Longs Peak Avenue. Then, from 11 am to 2 pm, visit Roosevelt Park at 700 Longs Peak Avenue for a display of parade vehicles, a children’s area, free fire truck rides, food vendors and demonstrations. Changes Made to Toilet Rebate Program
Beginning Monday, August 29, 2011, all toilets, rebate forms and accompanying documentation for toilet rebates will no longer be accepted at 1251 South Bowen Street, instead the toilet, application and corresponding paperwork will need to be submitted to the City of Longmont’s Waste Diversion Center (formerly known as the Recycle Center) at 140 Martin Street. Just drive up to the window attendant and they will process your paperwork and direct you to the appropriate drop off bin. The change in toilet rebate location offers customers an extra weekend day to rebate toilets and is more centrally located within the city. In addition, you can also bring other recyclables that don’t fit or are not accepted in your curbside recycling container. The hours of operation at the Waste Diversion Center are:
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Thursday, Friday and Saturday – 8:30 am to 5:45 pm
Closed on Sundays and Holidays
