Most City Facilities Closed on Monday
Longmont city government observes Labor Day on Monday, September 5, as a holiday. The following facilities will be CLOSED: Civic Center, Service Center, Development Services Center, Library, Senior Center, Museum, Memorial Building, Youth Center, Centennial Pool and Waste Diversion Center. Trash and recycling collection services will be one day late this week. On Labor Day the Longmont Recreation Center will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, Sunset Pool will be open from 10 am to 5 pm for its final day of the season, and the St. Vrain Memorial Building and Centennial Pool will be closed. A Common Sense Approach to Preparedness
In just four easy steps, you can be ready for an emergency and avoid disaster! Attend one of these meetings to learn how to prepare: Wednesday, September 14, 7 to 8 pm, at Fire Station #5, 617 Barberry Drive or Thursday, September 22, 7 to 8 pm, at Fire Station #3, 1000 Pace Street. Volunteer to Help Crime Victims
The Longmont Police Department is seeking volunteer advocates to provide crisis intervention to victims of crime and other traumatic events. To volunteer you must be a resident of Longmont and at least 21 years old. You also must commit to one year of service, attend 40 hours of training, and have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Longmont Launches Mobile Website
Finding a City service or reporting a problem is now a lot more convenient with the introduction of the new Longmont mobile phone website. Visit www.ci.longmont.co.us on your smartphone and connect to the City’s mobile site. From there, you can instantly call all City departments, find locations of and maps to City facilities and parks, read the latest City news, snap and send a photo to report street damage and burned out street lights, request specific City services, or send a note to the city council.
