Voter Registration Deadline is October 3
Residents who plan to cast a ballot in the 2011 coordinated election have only a few days left to register to vote. The deadline to register for the election, which will be conducted by mail ballot, is Monday, Oct. 3. Boulder County voters can visit www.BoulderCountyVotes.org to register to vote, request a mail ballot, or check and update their voter registration. They can also call 303-413-7740 for more information or visit the Boulder County Clerk & Recorder's Office branch at 529 Coffman St. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Voters who have moved since the previous election will need to update their registration if they plan to vote in the upcoming election. The upcoming election will be conducted by mail ballot only. All active, registered voters will receive a ballot. Election Day is Nov. 1, but voters will begin receiving ballots in mid-October.

Council Re-opens Housing Task Force Recruitment
October 14 is the new deadline to apply for membership on the Ad Hoc Workforce Housing Task Force. Volunteer task force members will serve through approximately July 2012 and will provide recommendations to city council about options for workforce housing programs. October 2 - 8 is Public Power Week, a time to remember that Longmont Power & Communications is the City’s community-owned electric utility. Free "Business Plan Essentials" Workshop
In partnership with the Longmont Economic Gardening Initiative (LEGI), the Boulder Small Business Development Center is offering workshops in Longmont that are free to Longmont businesses. These workshops are approved business training programs for the City’s Business Start-up Grant Program. “Business Plan Essentials” will be held at the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce from 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, October 4. Union Reservoir Master Plan Presentation
Revisions to the Union Reservoir Recreational Master Plan will be presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board at its meeting at 7 pm on Monday, October 10, at the Parks Administration Building, 7 S.
