Meet the City Manager Candidates

Community members are invited to a panel discussion with the candidates for Longmont city manager on Thursday, January 19, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, in the City Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark Street. Please send any questions you would like asked of the candidates to Chief Human Resources Officer Bobby King at bobby.king@ci.longmont.co.us or call 303-651-8609. City Offices Closed for MLK Day

Longmont city government observes the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday on Monday, January 16. The following facilities will be CLOSED: Civic Center, Service Center, Development Services Center, Library, Senior Center, Museum, Youth Center, and Waste Diversion Center. Trash and recycling collection will be one day late during this week. If you have questions about the collection schedule, call 303-651-8416. Celebrate MLK on Sunday and Monday

The public is invited to join in two celebrations of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. First is a Marade (march/parade) and program to honor Dr. King’s work for civil rights and social justice from 3 to 5:30 pm on Sunday, January 15, at the Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 18 S. Sunset Street. Then, on Monday, January 16, the Silver Creek Leadership Academy will host a celebration at 4 pm in the Silver Creek High School Auditorium at 4901 Nelson Road. Tell the Council What's on Your Mind at Open Forum

The Longmont City Council invites residents to an Open Forum on Tuesday, January 17, 7 pm in the Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark Street. This is an opportunity to speak to the council about any topic; plan to arrive a little early to get your name on the list of speakers. Public Invited to Longmont Sister Cities Meeting

Longmont Sister Cities Association (LSCA) invites the public to its annual meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, January 19, in the City Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark Street. At this meeting you can learn more about LSCA and the Student Exchange Program. There also will be a recap of the year’s activities and a presentation of plans for 2012. Refreshments will be served.
