Free Coffee and Conversation with City Council on Saturday

Longmont City Council is hosting Coffee with Council on Saturday, July 21, on the patio at the Ute Creek Golf Course, 2000 Ute Creek Drive. At Coffee with Council, you can talk informally with two council members on any topic of your choice. For information about council meetings and agendas, call the City Clerk’s Office at 303-651-8649.

Scheduled Phone Outage on Tuesday

On Tuesday, July 24, city staff will begin the process of changing major phone lines to a new system. Part of this process will require the phone lines in the City to be unavailable, starting at 10 p.m. and lasting approximately 2-3 hours. This outage will not impact 911 calls and we thank you in advance for your patience.

Let's Talk Broadband

Longmont Power & Communications will hold a public information meeting about the City’s broadband infrastructure and possible uses. Longmont businesses are invited to attend on Friday, July 20, from 3:30 to 5 pm at the Longmont City Council Chambers, 350 Kimbark Street. Kinetics Sculpture Race Returns to Union Reservoir

Union Reservoir again hosts the Longmont Kinetic Sculpture Race on Saturday, July 21. Gates open at 9 am. Kinetics is a zany day of themed sculptures that traverse land and water with the help of costumed pilots. Enjoy other festivities, including the Kinetics parade, dragon boat and sculling demonstrations, and the new Recycled Raft Race, a cardboard boat contest for youth. Photo Contest to Showcase Longmont

The Longmont Area Visitors Association (LAVA) is holding a contest for a photo to be used potentially on the cover of the 2013 Longmont Visitors’ Guide, postcards of Longmont that will be sold in retail outlets, and the LAVA website. Voting for the Community Pick Prize will take place at Festival on Main on August 24 with cash awards for first and second place. The entry deadline is 3 pm on Wednesday, August 1, at the LAVA office, 630 Coffman Street, 80501, Attn: LAVA Photo Contest. Entries can be submitted either as prints or on a CD.
