Close Out the Summer with Festival on Main
Plan to be on Main Street in downtown Longmont from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, August 24, for the 12th annual Festival on Main. There will be lots of free activities for children, street performers, dancers, arts activities, food vendors, and three stages with live music. This year’s headliners are The Long Run, Colorado’s popular tribute to the Eagles. Free parking and shuttle service are available between 6 and 9:15 pm from the RTD lot at 8th and Coffman and from the former Butterball parking lot at 1st Avenue and Main Street; enter off Coffman Street. There also will be a free bicycle valet at 4th Avenue and Kimbark Street. Handicap parking is available at Longmont Christian School, 550 Coffman Street. For more information visit www.festivalonmain.com.
New Bike Repair Station Along St. Vrain Greenway
A new self-service bike repair station – The Fixit – has been installed in the Left Hand Brewing parking lot at 1265 Boston Avenue, just north of the St. Vrain Greenway. The Fixit includes all the tools necessary to perform basic repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs, to adding air to your tires. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedals and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments. The Fixit is provided through a grant from LiveWell Longmont, and the space is provided by Left Hand Brewing Company.
