Most City Offices Closed for Veterans Day

Longmont city government observes the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 12. The following facilities are CLOSED: Civic Center, Service Center, Library, Senior Center, Museum, Youth Center, Development Services Center, and Waste Diversion Center. All recreation facilities will be open regular hours. Trash and recycling will be collected one day late this week. For more information visit www.ci.longmont.co.us/city_council.

Be an Airport Expo Vendor

The City of Longmont is looking for food, sundry, craft and other vendors to be part of the 2013 Longmont Airport Expo. The 2013 Expo will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013, from 7 am to 3 pm at Vance Brand Municipal Airport. Average attendance is 5,000 spectators. To reserve your vending booth site, receive a contract and discuss pricing options, contact Ed Spengler at expovendors@comcast.net.

Hands-on Electricity Exhibit at Museum

Get AMP’D UP! at the Longmont Museum on Saturday, November 17, from 10 am to 2 pm. Take your family to the grand opening of AMP’D: Powering Longmont 1912-2012, a hands-on exhibit exploring the mysteries of electricity and celebrating the centennial of Longmont Power & Communications (LPC). This one-day event will feature LPC equipment and trucks, along with exciting demonstrations and activities for all ages. Admission is $5. The exhibit runs through February 17. Run or Walk The Turkey Trot This Weekend

Longmont Recreation Services presents the 38th Annual Longmont Turkey Trot 2-mile and 10K run/walk beginning at 9 am on on Saturday, November 10, at Altona Middle School, 4600 Clover Basin Drive. Preregistration cost is $20 for adults and $18 for youth/seniors. Registration fees increase on Friday, November 9.
