Volunteer to Make Downtown Clean and Green

Volunteer now for the Longmont Downtown Development Authority’s Clean & Green event from 8:30 am to noon on Saturday, April 27. Volunteers are needed to help clean up Main Street and around buildings, parking lots, alleys, other structures in the downtown area that need extra TLC to help them shine. Free Sales and Use Tax Seminar

Do you have questions about the business sales and use tax in Longmont? A free seminar that will answer all your questions will be held from noon to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, March 13, in the Study Session Room at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street. Topics include sales tax basics, use tax overview, point of taxation information, and manufacturing and R&D exemptions. Attendees will be entered into a drawing for a Downtown Longmont gift card. Learn How to Get Organized

“Business Organization from Office to Home Front” is the next in a series of free small business support workshops at the Longmont Public Library, 409 Fourth Avenue. It will be held in the Library meeting rooms from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 12. "If I Were Mayor..." Essay Contest

The Colorado Municipal League’s statewide “If I Were Mayor ... ” essay contest gives seventh and eighth grade students the opportunity to tell others what they would do as mayor to make their city the best place to live. Winners receive a certificate of achievement, $500 to establish a scholarship account with CollegeInvest, and recognition during the CML Annual Conference, June 18–21, in Vail. Entries should be submitted by teachers by Friday, April 5. For more information visit www.cml.org/home.
