Curbside Leaf Bag Collection Begins November 4

The City will collect bagged leaves placed at curbside before 7 am on the Monday of your leaf collection week; there will be one pass through each neighborhood. Bagged leaves on private property or in alleys will not be collected. If your trash collection day is Monday, leaf collection begins November 4. If your trash collection day is Tuesday, leaf collection begins November 11. If your trash collection day is Wednesday, leaf collection begins November 18. If your trash day is Thursday, leaf collection begins November 25. For more information, call 303-651-8416.

Apply Now for a City Board or Commission

Flood Debris Collection Ends November 4

The City of Longmont will end neighborhood flood debris waste collections in the affected flood areas on Monday, November 4, 2013. Please place your remaining flood related debris curbside or in the roll-off container in your area before November 4.

If you are in need of additional disposal services after November 4:

· Contact local private waste haulers for service or dispose of your materials at the landfill.

· Dispose of yard waste materials at the city’s Waste Diversion Center for no charge.

· Drop off paints, solvents and chemicals at the Boulder County Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility (720-564-2251) for no charge.

Enter Your Design for Holiday Tote Bag Contest

Why do “you belong in Longmont”? What do you like best about our city? Draw your design for the You Belong in Longmont art contest, and we’ll select up to three to print on this year’s tote bag giveaway during the holidays. You can find the rules at or by calling 303-651-8601. The entry deadline is Monday, November 4. Winners will be notified by November 5, and listed on the City’s website.

Free Pharmaceutical Drop-off Day

Don’t flush medication down the toilet or sink. It can pass through the treatment plant and enter the river. Bring all your unused medication to Longmont United Hospital at 1950 Mountain View Avenue between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturday, October 26, where it will be disposed of properly. Compost Your Pumpkins

Take your Halloween pumpkins to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street and toss them in the tree limb pile to be composted. The center is open from 7:30 am to 4:45 pm, Monday through Saturday (closed on Sundays and holidays). There is no charge if you present your City of Longmont residential utility bill showing that you are a solid waste customer. For more information call 303-651-8416.

Register Online to Vote

Monday, October 28, is the last day to register online at to vote in the November election. After the 28th, residents can register in person at a Voter Service and Polling Center up to and on election day, Tuesday, November 5. The Voter Service Center in Longmont is at 529 Coffman Street. Hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
