Clean Up and Recycling Events Next Weekend
In the January 2014 issue of City Line, the City of Longmont’s monthly newsletter, the dates for two popular clean-up events are listed incorrectly. The two events are scheduled Saturday, February 8. The Free Landfill Drop Day is from 6 am to 2 pm at the Front Range Landfill, 1830 Weld County Road 5, in Erie. Residents can dispose of one level pickup full of bulky trash items and debris that don’t fit in curbside containers, and all loads must be covered. This program is free to residential customers. Please take identification and the most recent copy of your utility bill to show that you are a City refuse collection customer. For information about what materials are accepted at the landfill call 303-673-9431. The Free Shred Event will be from 9 am to 2 pm at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin Street, where residential customers can recycle sensitive documents. Bring identification and a copy of your most recent utility bill to show that you are eligible for this service. This is for residential customers only; business documents are not accepted. For more information call 303-651-8416.

CPR and First Aid Classes
Save a life...sign up for a CPR or first aid class in 2014. The use of CPR dates to 1740, yet even today, most Americans don’t know how to perform it. Given properly and immediately to sudden cardiac arrest victims, CPR can save lives. Visit http://www.ci.longmont.co.us/fire/education/cpr_class.htm for a schedule and registration information.
