Longmont Library Offers Best Sellers Collection
OCTOBER 15, 2012 - The Longmont Public Library is pleased to announce a new library service: The Lucky Day Collection. The Collection features bestselling titles from the New York Times Book Review, The Denver Post and local reviews and are available for immediate check out.
Books by J.K. Rowling, James Patterson, Nora Roberts and Stewart Woods to name just a few authors are now available for immediate check out. If the book is on the shelf, it is yours to checkout. No need to place your name on a reserve list. It is your “lucky day.” Lucky Day books go out for three weeks. There is a limit of one book at a time to a customer.
Library members are thrilled with the new service. Staff is hearing comments like “you mean I can have it” and “I stop in every week and checkout a new one.” Come take a look and see what is in. The selection changes by the hour.
For the first time in fifty years, there are bestselling books on the shelf and available for checkout at the Longmont Public Library. “We have always had bestsellers,” says Library Director Judith Anderson, “but they were constantly checked out with very long waiting lists. They were not available to anyone who walks in off the street – until now.”
Funding for the Lucky Day Collection is provided by the Friends of the Longmont Library. To find out more about the Friends or to join please look them up at www.friendsoflongmontlibrary.org.
Everyone belongs at the Library! Library cards are free to Longmont residents. Bring a photo ID and proof of address and you can be reading a bestseller (for free) before the end of the day.
The Longmont Public Library is located at 409 4th Avenue in Longmont. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 10 am to 9pm; Friday and Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 1 to 5 pm. For more information please see our website at www.ci.longmont.co.us or phone 303-651-8475.
