MARCH 14, 2012 - RTD Board Chairman Lee Kemp will discuss the latest FasTracks proposal from RTD on Thursday, March 15 at 6 pm at the Longmont Senior Center, room F, located at 910 Longs Peak Ave. The public is invited to attend.
Longmont is the last leg of the planned Northwest FasTracks commuter rail line. Recent changes proposed by the RTD board indicate that completion of the line to Longmont will be delayed to 2024 or later; another proposal is to replace the commuter rail line with a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system instead.
The Longmont City Council is opposed to any option that does not bring a commuter rail line to Longmont. Chairman Kemp is expected to address the council's concerns.
