Longmont to Plow Residential Streets
FEBRUARY 3, 2012 - Beginning Saturday, Feb. 4, city crews will begin to make one pass through the residential streets. In order to plow one lane through the residential streets the snow crews will postpone clearing most trails and greenways over the weekend, but the work on trails and greenways will resume on Monday.
The city crews will work with a contractor beginning early Saturday morning to clear and haul snow away from the downtown area. This will entail hauling snow from the core downtown area on Main St.

The City of Longmont has received approximately 10 to 11 inches of snow at this time, and the forecast calls for the possibility of another 5 inches. In addition, there is a possibility of another storm on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
The snow crews will continue to work 12 hours shifts and concentrate on the arterials and collector streets as well as the downtown area.
