Longmont's Waste Diversion Center to Hold Free Paper Shredding Event Dec. 14
December 11, 2013 - It’s time again for the monthly event designed to help Longmont residents safely and securely recycle private documents. Saturday, Dec. 14 is Shredding Day at the city’s Waste Diversion Center located at 140 Martin Street. Saturday’s event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents should bring a copy of their most recent Longmont utility bill as proof of payment for the city’s waste management fee and a form of I.D. for access to the event. Electronically billed customers should print a copy of their statement or bring a mobile device to show the window attendant proof of payment.
The City provides monthly paper shredding events at no charge to Longmont residents in an effort to encourage recycling, while protecting residents’ identities. Simply bring your boxed or bagged papers and documents to the Waste Diversion Center on Shredding Day. These events are for residential documents only; no businesses, please.
Shredded paper is accepted at the Waste Diversion Center year round. There is a specially designated container in the drop off area. Please remember, shredded paper is not allowed in your curbside, single-stream recycling cart. For more information on recycling in Longmont, please visit ci.longmont.co.us/solidwaste or call the Public Works & Natural Resources Call Center at 303-651-8416.
