The Public Safety Information and Technology section is responsible for researching, planning and implenting public safety specific technology to meet data collection, data analysis and information sharing needs in the police and fire departments.
The Public Safety Information Technology (IT), section is made up of three distinct work groups:
Police IT supports and administers public safety hardware and software, researches and implements new technologies, and provides technical training and support to police and fire personnel.
Records Unit ensures that Longmont criminal justice records are maintained, stored, released, and disseminated in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Phone: 303 - 651 - 8502
Crime Analyst analyzes crime data and provides timely and pertinent crime pattern and crime trend information to administrative and operational personnel in the police department to assist them in planning and deploying resources for the prevention and suppression of criminal activity.
