Longmont
Police Department, Department Guide
Information Services Division, Public Safety Information and Technology, Records
The Longmont Police Records Section is staffed Monday through Sunday (opens at 6am and closes at 2am the following morning).
Police Service Technicians (PST's) assigned to the Records Section act as
the primary custodians of Longmont criminal justice records. One of the primary functions of the Records Section is to ensure Department compliance with statewide
standards for maintaining, disseminating and sealing criminal justice records. PST's assigned to Records are responsible for processing requests for records
and determining release based on local, state, and federal laws governing access. As custodians of hardcopy and electronic records, the PST's are "resident
experts" on records produced by the department and a primary source of reference for operations personnel wishing to obtain information from databases
maintained by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
