Voluntary Water Conservation Program
"Conserving our water to preserve our quality of life."
The City of Longmont resumed it's Level I Drought Response Plan effective May 1, 2003, which is a voluntary water conservation program.
For wise water conservation, the City suggests following the lawn watering schedule outlined in the Level II Drought Response Plan below. For other water saving suggestions, go to our Conservation Tips page, or Cycle Irrigation page.
"Level II Drought Response: Pursuant to Section 14.04.450A of the Longmont Municipal Code, the City hereby adopts the following mandatory watering restrictions applicable to all City of Longmont water customers:
- No City of Longmont water customer may water their lawn or garden more than two days per week.
- No watering of lawns or gardens is permitted between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Watering of lawns or gardens is limited to the following days:
- Residential single family and duplex water customers with even addresses ("Re") may water only on Sundays and Thursdays.
- Residential single family and duplex water customers with odd addresses ("Ro") may water only on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- All other water customers, including multi-family residential, homeowners associations and non-residential customers ("NR"), may water only on Tuesdays and Fridays.
- No City of Longmont water customer shall allow water to run to waste in any gutter or other impervious surface or other application. For the purposes of this Resolution, waste means the use of water serving no beneficial use and not constituting an unavoidable incident of the beneficial usage of water, including without limitation the failure to repair or shut off within 24 hours any irrigation system that is malfunctioning."
