Longmont Senior Services has
to listen and assist you
Services Resource Staff Can Help
Staff are available to visit with you in order to provide information about,
or referrals to, other resources. They are also available to meet with family
members of older adults.
Seniors Resources Coordinator, Ruth Waukau, a licensed therapist, provides or coordinates several programs to support individuals and caregivers. She provides counseling
to older adults and their families, supervises the Senior-to-Senior program and
facilitates support groups.
Veronica Garcia, Resource Specialist,
can assist with housing concerns, health issues, completing forms for assistance
and connecting people to needed resources in the community. She is also bilingual
and can assist Spanish-speaking seniors. She facilitates social activities
for elder Latino persons and also manages the Colorado Life Trak program.

- Social/Emotional Support:
visit friends, call regularly, shopping, outings
- Financial Management:
manage checkbook, banking, pay bills
laundry, cleaning, home repairs, moving
- Medical/Health Care:
health care power of attorney, DNR (do not resuscitate) orders, arrange
medicines, coordinate records, accompany to appointments
- Negotiating Legal Systems:
living wills, powers of attorney, wills
- Personal Care: bathing,
meals, grocery shopping, transportation
Caregiver Support Groups
There are two groups which offer resources, information and support from one caregiver to another in a facilitated group setting. Call Ruth at 303-651-8414 for information about either group.
1st Monday, 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Light supper is provided.
2nd Tuesday, 12:00 - 1:30 pm
Focus on dementia. Light lunch is provided.
