Support Programs for Caregivers, Senior Services

Personal Assistance

Senior Services Resources Staff Can Help!
Senior Services Division staff are available to provide information and assistance or referrals to resources or, can talk to you regarding problems or concerns. They are available to meet with family members of older adults as well. They'll help you get connected to the service/resource that's right for you!

Ruth provides counseling to seniors and their families, supervises the peer counseling program and facilitates support groups. She also maintains a database of community resources for seniors and their families.

Veronica can assist with housing concerns, health issues, completing forms for assistance and connecting people to needed resources in the community. She also manages Colorado Life Trak, a program for identification to protect someone who may wander.

- FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP -

2nd Tuesday , 12:00-1:30 p.m.

Longmont Senior Center
Focus will be on issues unique to caring for people with Alzheimer related dementia.

- EVENING CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS -
1st Monday, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
(held on the 2nd Monday when the 1st Monday falls on a holiday)

Longmont Senior Center

Note: Nursing Homes often offer family support groups. Check with individual facilities for availability and information.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
First Monday of each month (held on the 2nd Monday when the 1st Monday falls on a holiday)
6:00-7:30 p.m.
Cost: Free
A place to share and learn from others who are involved in raising their grandchildren. Childcare is provided. Pre-registration requested. Please call Ruth at 303-651-8414 for more details.

Grief Recovery Support

Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Triple S Support Group (open meeting).

- Caregiver Groups
1st Monday each month, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

2nd Tuesday each month, 12:00 –1:30 p.m.(focus on dementia)

-Diabetes Support Group

-Easy Breathers
3rd Wednesday each month. Noon-2:00 p.m. at Longmont United Hospital, Picasso Room. 303-485-4184 for information.

-Longmont Brain Injury Support Group

-Longmont Family Member Support Group
