Volleyball
Senior
Golf Association
The Senior Golf Association continues weekly May through early October. All
levels of golfers are encouraged to join the fun. This is a non competitive
environment no scores are turned in or tracked. It is a great way to get out
and play with other senior golfers, enjoy the sport and meet some new players.
We play nine holes at Sunset Golf Course on Friday
mornings. If you would like more information, contact Theresa,

Senior Softball
Games: April through August
The Longmont Senior Center participates in the Colorado Senior Softball Association. Teams are formed and practices begin in March. Games are played throughout the Denver metro area on Mondays (70's team) and Wednesdays (A- E Division). For more details, please visit the Softball Page.

Play Badminton
Wednesdays and Fridays
9:15-11:00 a.m.
Cost: 50¢ per session
Join this fun group for a rousing game and a good work out. Badminton is great,
have you played recently? Stop in and try it. Equipment provided.

Play Table Tennis
Wednesdays and Fridays

Cost: 50¢ per session
Join other table tennis enthusiasts for some friendly competition. Equipment
provided.
Pickleball
Indoors:
Monday - Thursday, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road
Fees payable at the front desk of the Recreation Center. Check out this fun, unique game. It is best described as a combination of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton and has been enjoyed for over 20 years by people of all ages. This mini-tennis game is played by 2 or 4 players on a badminton-sized court using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly baseball with holes. Come give it a try and see if it's for you! Your SilverSneakers pass will work for payment for Pickleball too.
Outdoors:
Mondays, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., during the summer as long as the weather permits

Cost: Free at the park
Tennis
Each Tuesday and Thursday
8:00-10:00 a.m., weather permitting
Beginning, advanced and "rusty" tennis players are invited to join
the senior open play program. Players meet at Pratt Park (located at Baylor
and Ithaca) for games. This is a drop in program; there are no fees or registration
necessary. Come out and have some fun as well as exercise in a great social
environment.
Fall
Volleyball League
Please join us if you are interested in playing in the Colorado Senior Volleyball
League, for those ages 50+. The fall league will begin play in early September
and continues through mid-December. Matches are played throughout the Denver
metro area including Littleton and as far north as Greeley. Practices are
held on Mondays afternoons and the matches are Wednesday afternoons. Historically,
we have had several teams participate in this league, at various skill levels.
If you are new to the game or an experienced player, we MAY have a spot for

Aerobic
Fitness Class
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
8:00-9:00 a.m.
Cost: $32.00 for 18 classes, $18.00 for 10 classes or $8.75 for 5 classes
(activity card)
Registration is ongoing. This fun, uplifting class provides aerobic exercises
to improve your health, make you feel good and start your day with positive
energy. The Y.M.C.A. provides instructors from their Silver Sneakers program.
If you have never tried this class, we offer the first one free, so you can
try the activity. If you are looking for a place to start an exercise program,
we recommend BEGINNING STRENGTH TRAINING.
BEGINNING
Strength Training
Tuesdays and Thursdays
8:00-9:00 a.m.
Learn the basics behind strength training starting by working on different
muscle groups, learning proper techniques and body alignment. You will work
with various types of equipment such as balls, bands, steps and hand weights
and things you can do at home, too. It is never too late to get in shape!
This class is being taught by Judy Anderson, certified fitness instructor
with 16 years experience and a special interest in working with seniors. This
class will be offered in the St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave.

ADVANCED
Strength Training 55+
Tuesdays and Thursdays
9:15 - 10:15 a.m.
Please note: in order to enroll in this class you must have taken the beginning
strength training class previously. Increases bone mass, muscle strength and
reduce the risk of osteoporosis with a training program that will teach you
to improve your strength, balance, posture and reduce your risk from injury
by building and toning muscles. Judy Anderson, certified Fitness Specialist
& personal trainer for 16 years, will be teaching this course. This class
will be offered in the St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave. Call

Yoga
Mondays
2:00-3:00 p.m.
This class is a gentle introduction to yoga for active seniors. Yoga is a
great way to improve total well-being. Techniques to improve breathing, flexibility,
strength, balance and relaxation will be offered. Please bring 2 blankets
or beach towels and a yoga mat (if you already have one). New students, please
come to the first class 10 minutes early. Instructor: Gwyn Cody.

Play Volleyball (October through March)

St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave.
All levels of players are welcome! You don't have to be a great player or
in great shape to play. Enjoy the camaraderie of other volleyball enthusiasts
and get some exercise, too. This is an ongoing activity; drop in fee of $1.75
is collected each session (afternoon). You may also purchase an activity card
(with 5, 10 or 18 uses on them).

classes is currently being taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
We have made registration for your classes easy! You have the option of paying
by credit card. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to
register for your trips from home. You may sign up for yourself and one other
person.
