Digital Divide Program - Offers Free Internet to Qualified Families
As part of the installation of a citywide
wireless internet infrastructure, the City
of Longmont received free internet
service accounts to help bridge the
digital divide for families that cannot
afford to purchase this service. These
free accounts are now being offered to low and
moderate-income households in
Longmont with children in middle
school or high school.
In addition to the free Internet service
some families may receive help to
purchase the scrambler units needed to
receive the wireless service in the home.
There also may be help available for
families that don’t have a computer
through a partnership with the Jared
Polis Foundation.
For more information and to find out how to qualify, contact
Tracy Defrancesco at 303-774-4445.
