Join Council Members Benker and Levison at Starbucks on Saturday
"Coffee with Council" Meetings Gaining in Popularity for its Direct Connection to Council Members
MARCH 24, 2009 - Longmont's monthly Coffee with Council meetings are growing in popularity - not only for the free coffee - but also for the informal conversation and direct communication between residents and elected officials.
The public is invited to the next "Coffee with Council" on March 28, 2009, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Starbucks located at 17th Ave. and Pace St. Council Member Sarah Levison and Mayor Pro Tem Karen Benker will host this month's coffee klatch and talk to residents about anything that's on their minds. Recent meetings have attracted 20 to 25 people - pushing the capacity of local coffee houses.
"Coffee with Council" is an open forum that is intended be an interactive and informal gathering where residents and members of the public have an opportunity to speak with elected officials on any topic. At least two City Council members will be in attendance at each gathering. “Coffee with Council” is scheduled for the last Saturday of the month and will be held in local Longmont coffee houses on a rotating basis from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (see calendar).
