High Water Closes Gates on St. Vrain Greenway Near Price Road
June 19, 2009 -Gates have been closed on the St. Vrain Greenway near Price Road and the railroad tracks (see map below) due to high water covering the pathway.
With reservoirs at capacity and a large snow melt runoff into rivers and streams, there is a strong potential for even more flooding at underpasses along the St. Vrain River. The public is asked to be cautious on and near the greenway especially at underpass areas.
More entry gates to the greenway could be closed this weekend. If that occurs, the public will be alerted through the City's e-alert system, the City's Web site and the Times-Call newspaper. If gates are closed, the public is urged to respect closed gates and stay clear of the greenway.
