MARCH 19, 2009 - If it's true that a picture is worth a thousand words, then the City of Longmont has multiplied the amount of information on it's Web site tenfold with the addition of community interest videos.
By visiting www.ci.longmont.co.us/videos/ anyone with Internet access and video viewing software (Microsoft Media Player or SilverLight Runtime) can watch videotaped information affecting the lives of Longmont residents.
For more than a year, City Council meetings, study sessions and Planning and Zoning meetings have been available online within 24 hours of the event. This has added convenience and provided more direct communication with the community. Building on that success, the City of Longmont is adding video programs of general community interest including:
More video will be added throughout the year as it becomes available. In addition to the Community Interest Video portion of the Web site, Longmont City Council Meetings and Study Sessions are posted weekly (usually within 24 hours of a meeting), City staff presentations are posted every two weeks and Planning & Zoning meetings are posted every month.
