Residents Not Likely to Need Water Line Insurance
JUNE 30, 2009 - Longmont residents are receiving a form letter from a company called Home Service with an offer to insure water lines entering their homes. This company is not associated with the City of Longmont and the City is not sponsoring or encouraging this practice.
Home Service is a private company selling a service. However, residents should know it is rare that a water service line needs the type of repair described in this letter.
The City's Water Utilities Division has received several calls about this solicitation in the past few days. A similar letter was also mailed to water customers earlier this year.
