June 17, 2009 - With reservoirs at capacity and a large snow melt runoff into rivers and streams, there is a strong potential for flooding at underpasses along the St. Vrain River.
River water is beginning to creep close to pathways and this could be a sign of even higher water later in the week. The public is asked to be cautious on and near the greenway especially at underpass areas.
Entry gates to the greenway could be closed as soon as this weekend. If that occurs, the public will be alerted through the City's e-alert system, the City's Web site and the Times-Call newspaper. If gates are closed, the public is urged to respect closed gates and stay clear of the greenway.
