Lykins Gulch Restoration Project Begins
FEBRUARY 3, 2010 - The City of Longmont Public Works and Natural Resources Department is beginning the construction of the Lykins Gulch Stream Restoration Project and will continue through September 2010. This project will reconstruct a natural meandering channel from the St. Vrain River near Golden Ponds Park and Nature Area southwesterly to the intersection of Airport Road and Rogers Road.
The St. Vrain Greenway trail system will also be extended by this project and the public can expect be some greenway trail closures and detours occurring during the project.
Rogers Road near Airport Road will also be relocated as part of the construction.
A local contractor, Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project.
