Fitness/ Wellness Programs, Longmont Recreation Services
The City of Longmont Recreation Services offers a wide range of fitness and wellness programs including water fitness and aerobic classes, land fitness and aerobic classes, yoga classes, Taste of Therapy Wellness Fairs, personal training, and fitness assessments. Fitness and wellness classes are offered at four sites year-round: the Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Rd; the St Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Avenue; Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine Street; and Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 18 S. Barre Bodies
Looking for a different type of toning class? Barre Bodies method uses the ballet barre, light weights, and mats to flatten abs, tone the thighs, and tighten the arms. SilverSneakers®: Come Join us for Fitness, Fun and Friends at the Longmont Recreation Center. SilverSneakers® The Fitness program is designed for Medicare participants with select insurance plans. TRX is Here!
TRX is a distinct training system that uses your own body weight and gravity as resistance. This training system is unique, simple to perform, but challenging as every movement requires balance and core strength. Don't have these? TRX will develop them and take care of any neglected muscle groups your regular program misses. Water Fitness Classes
Longmont Recreation Services holds water fitness classes year-round at the Longmont Recreation Center, during the fall/winter/spring at Centennial Pool, and summers at Sunset Pool.
Land fitness classes are offered by Longmont Recreation Services year-round at the St Vrain Memorial Building, the Longmont Recreation Center, and Centennial Pool.
Longmont Recreation Services hosts a wide variety of yoga classes classes year-round at Izaak Walton Clubhouse and the St Vrain Memorial Building. Drop-in and monthly fees are available.
Personal Training
Longmont Recreation Services offers one-on-one personal training for individuals who are just starting to exercise, who have specific training goals in mind, or who are looking to shake up their workout routine. Personal Training is available by appointment at all Recreation Services facilities.
Fitness Assessments
Use Longmont Recreation Services' Fitness Assessments to determine your relative muscular balance between right and left sides of your body, examine your eating habits, or obtain an orientation to the weight room along with a personalized fitness profile.
Longmont Recreation Services brings a variety of alternative wellness practitioners together. Wellness options featured vary from month to month, with Massage, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Energy Work, Readings and more available for 15 minute session for only $5 each. Next Fairs: Feb 11, Mar 10, and the Big Taste of Therapy on April 14.
